Trip Overview of Upper Mustang with Tiji Festival 2025
Tiji also known as the Teenji festival is celebrated for 3 days at the Upper Mustang with Tije Festival 2025 of Nepal – the forbidden kingdom. The festival is celebrated at the end of the dry season (usually in May of the annual calendar). The word Tiji is derived from the word “Ten Che” which means “hope of the dharma prevailing in all worlds”. The accordance with mythology, this is a celebration of the great victory of Buddha’s incarnation against the most harmful demon who used to make trouble the local people’s living by making a massive shortage of water in the dry land. Similarly, the trek offers an exploration of Lo Manthang with its amazing landscapes, thousands of mysterious caves, monuments, splendid views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges, exploring Tibetan cultural villages, etc.
An organized Upper Mustang with Tiji (Teeji) Festival 2025 Treks with Tourist Link Treks and Expedition (P) Ltd begins after enjoying a day stay in Kathmandu with a sightseeing tour and all essential arrangements that require for trekking adventure. Leaving Kathmandu, we will take a day scenic drive to Pokhara. Pokhara is an entrance for this Upper Mustang Tiji (Teeji) festival trekking. From Pokhara, we will have a scenic flight to Jomsom to reach our exact trekking starting point. Having a tantalizing view of Mt. Annapurna, Fishtail, Dhaulagiri, and many other snowcapped ranges while on an adventurous flight. We start our trekking gradually towards Lo-manthang by following the world’s deepest Kali Gandaki gorge, Amazingly diverse landscapes, several Tibetan villages, and splendid views of mountains; explore Buddhist monasteries, chhortens, gompas, etc along the route. After accomplishing the exploration and observation of three days of Tiji festivals which will be performed gradually process-wise with different activities on 3 separate days, our adventurous and cultural journey gradually returns via one of the popular holy temples at Muktinath, back to Jomsom, and fly back to Pokhara then drive back to Kathmandu.

9th May 2025: Arrival in Kathmandu(1345m)
Arrival in Kathmandu(1345m) Breakfast Hotel Kathmandu
Upon landing at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by a representative from ‘Tourist Link Treks & Expedition’ who will then convey you through the vibrant streets in Kathmandu to the hotel where you will receive a brief explanation regarding your trekking package. You will spend a pleasant night in the comfy bed.
10th May 2025: Sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley

Taking light breakfast early in the morning, our guide will then take you for a pleasant day tour inside Kathmandu which encompasses the UNESCO enlisted holiest shrine of Shiva at Pashupatinath Temple Complex, the Bouddhanath Stupa which is the largest Stupa existing inside Kathmandu, Swayambhunath Temple aka Monkey Temple which is the oldest Stupa inside Kathmandu which dates almost 2oooyrs back and the Kathmandu Durbar Square which is yet another UNESCO enlisted historical site where you will get chance to view the abode of Living Goddess- Kumari, Kasthamandap Temple, Kal Bhairab and many more.
11th May 2025: Drive to Pokhara(900m)

A 25-minute pleasant flight from the Domestic Airport of Kathmandu with scenic views of Manaslu, Annapurna, and Langtang Himalayan range will be able to take us to Pokhara. Alternatively, we can choose 5hour of enchanting drive through the meandering road along the Prithvi Highway which will eventually take us to the beautiful lake city of Pokhara. The route will be full of natural grandeurs like the Trishuli River, rice terraces, and numerous peaks in the background.
12th May 2025: Fly Pokhara to Jomsom Trek to Kagbeni(2800m)

It takes 20 minutes of pleasant flight over mountains to arrive at the Airport in Jomsom. We will be enjoying the views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountains from the comfortable seats of the plane. Landing at Jomsom which is the district headquarters and the hub of the Mustang Region, we will begin our trekking by walking along Kali Gandaki River to the village at Kagbeni which is the gateway for Upper Mustang.
13th May 2025: Trek to Chele(3050m)
6hrs B/L/D Mountain Lodge
Walking along the eastern bank of Kaligandaki River, we will follow the upward trail to Tangbe Village. Making our way through the narrow alleys between the homes, we will arrive at the fields of buckwheat and apples which we will cross to reach to Chhusang Village. Later we will cross the Kaligandaki River over a suspension bridge to make it to Chele Village which is located at the top of the ridge.
14th May 2025: Trek to Ghiling(3570m)

Early in the morning around 7:00 am get breakfast and trek to the Ghiling. We do evening sightseeing which is 800 hundred oldest monasteries.
15th May 2025: Trek to Lo-Manthang(3810m)

After getting breakfast in the morning, our Trekking again starts, we will crosses the Tsarang Chu after we will get to Tholung Village and the windy pass of Lo which is 3,850 m above the sea level, the continue ahead you can see Lo- Manthang Valley which is views of the walled city near magnificent of hills on the Tibetan Border. we cross the Tsarang Chu after you can get to the plateau of Lo- Manthang.
19th May 2025: Trek to Dramkar (3820m)
6hrs B/L/D Mountain Lodge
Lo-Manthang is the farthest point of our trek. So, on the 10th day, we will be making a return trip. We will choose a different path that moves forward through Dramkar. En route, we will visit the Ancient Gyokar Gompa which is rich in paintings that are popular among locals as the wish-fulfilling Gompa. Climbing the ridge, we will have a gentle descent from where we will continue walking to Dramkar.
20th May 2025: Trek to Syanboche(3800m)
6 hrs B/L/D Mountain Lodge
Almost finished festival’s trip so you will return journey follows different trails and we let you explore another part of the village. Sometimes you explore the monastery in Nepal, Tibet as well as the oldest Buddhist Gompa, and continue down the valley Syanboche.
21st May 2025: Trek to Chhusang (2980m)
6 hrs B/L/D Mountain Lodge
The trek on the 12th day begins early in the morning as we take the easy trail that lowers down from the hill to Chhuksang. It takes about 6hours of walking to arrive at Chhuksang which offers pleasant views of the surrounding mountains and landscapes. We will be staying overnight at Chhuksang.
22nd May 2025: Trek to Muktinath (3760m)
6hrs B/L/D Mountain Lodge
Continuing through the trail that prolongs along the southern border of the Mustang region, we will head to Kagbeni. Walking past Kagbeni, the trail prolongs through the bank of Kali Gandaki River all the way to Jomsom.
23rd May 2025: Trek to Jomsom (2800m)

This is a small trek around a 3-hour walk from Muktinath, it continues down the riverbed to Jomsom.
24th May 2025: Fly to Pokhara
1hrs Breakfast Hotel Pokhara
20 minutes of an early morning flight with views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountains will take us to Pokhara. We will spend our spare time exploring the enchanting Lake city of Pokhara whereby we will be visiting Phewa Lake, Seti Gorge, David Fall, KI Singh Bridge, Mahendra Cave, and the International Mountaineering Museum prior to returning back to the hotel where we will be staying overnight.
25th May 2025: Drive to Kathmandu
6 hrs Breakfast Hotel Kathmandu
5 hours of scenic drive through the serpentine roads along Prithvi Highway with exotic views of the Trishuli River, paddy fields, terraces, and hills will lead us back to Kathmandu where we will be staying in a hotel. Dinner will be served in the evening to celebrate the successful ‘Upper MustangTrek.’ Alternatively, 25minutes of a pleasant flight can be chosen from Pokhara Airport to arrive at the Domestic Airport of Kathmandu.
26th May 2025: Leisure day in Kathmandu
All day Breakfast Hotel Kathmandu
This is an easy day you have. You can spend according to your wish so you can go shopping, sightseeing around Thamel or be idle in the cafe.
27th May 2025: Final Departure

Well, this is the last day of your Journey in Nepal including the Upper mustang with Tiji Festival. Tourist link trek will provide you with the airport drop facility. We like to say goodbye full of thankfulness and look forward to serving you in the upcoming days.
