Procedure and info
You are allowed to trek as FIT (Free Individual Traveler) or as in a group of various size in Nepal. However, in certain trekking regions falling under restricted regions, the visits are regulated by the Government of Nepal for various reasons, and FIT is strictly forbidden. To enter and trek in these areas, you must be in a group with a licensed trekking guide. Similarly, special permits are required to access these areas available from the Department of Immigration.

 You will need the following documents to apply for the Trekking permit application

  • Online application form: – http://online.nepalimmigration.gov.np/
  • Copy of Passport
  • Valid visa lasting enough to cover the trekking days
  • Documents relating the travel insurance
  • Name list of the trekking group and schedule of the trekking program
  • Guarantee letter of agency
  • Voucher of Bank Payment (permit fees)

We will apply for all these trekking permits of these areas, and you can look in the trek description for the inclusion of the permit fees in the charge in the overall trek. We will prepare a group for the trek and provide you with the date of the trek commencement. Travelers’ Information management (TIMS) card is compulsory to trek in Nepal. It can be obtained from the Nepal Tourism Board office in Kathmandu and costs 20$ for the individual whereas 10$ per PP. Similarly, NP/CA entry fees are obtained at their respective entry points if the trekking route enters them.

The general charges for the trekking areas and restricted zones of Nepal are given below: –

  1. Dolpa District

a) Lower Dolpa

  • US$ 10 per week PP or equivalent convertible foreign currency

b) Upper Dolpa regions

  • US$ 500 for the first ten days, extra US $ 50 per day PP for additional days
  1. Taplejung District
  • US$ 10 per week PP or equivalent convertible foreign currency
  1. Mustang District (Upper)
  • US$ 500 for first 10 days, extra US $ 50 per day PP for additional days
  1. Gorkha District

a) Manaslu Area

  • From September-November Per week PP US $ 70, extra US $ 10 per day PP for additional days
  • From December-August Per week PP US $ 50, extra US $ 7 per day PP for additional days

b) Lower Manaslu (Chhekampar & Chunchet)

  • From September-November US$ 35 for 8 days
  • From December-August US$ 25 for 8 days
  1. Dolakha District (Gauri Sankhar & Lamabagar)
  • US $ 10 per week PP or equivalent convertible foreign currency
  1. Humla District (Simikot and Yari)
  • US $ 50 for first 7 days, extra US $ 7 per day PP for additional days or equivalent convertible foreign currency
  1. Rasuwa District (Thiuman and Timure)
  • US $ 10 per week PP or equivalent convertible foreign currency
  1. Sankhuwasabha District (Makalu region)
  • US $ 10 per week PP for first 4 weeks, extra US $ 20 per week PP after 4 weeks or equivalent convertible foreign currency
  1. Solukhumbu District (Everest region)
  • US $ 10 per week PP for first 4 weeks, extra US $ 20 per week PP after 4 weeks or equivalent convertible foreign currency
  1. Manang District (Nar, Phu and Tilche village regions)
  • From September-November US$ 90 per week PP
  • From December-August US$ 75 per week PP
  1. Mugu District (Mugu, Dolpu, Bhangri and Pulu regions)
  • US $ 90 for first 7 days, extra US $ 15 per day PP for additional days or equivalent convertible foreign currency
  1. Bajhang District (Saipal, Kanda, and Dhuli areas)
  • US $ 90 for first 7 days, extra US $ 15 per day PP for additional days or equivalent convertible foreign currency
  1. Darchula District (Byas Village region)
  • US $ 90 for first 7 days, extra US $ 15 per day PP for additional days or equivalent convertible foreign currency
