Trip Overview of Kailash Manasarovar Trek

Kailash Manasarovar Trek, situated along the border between Nepal and Tibet, the autonomous province of neighboring China, is one of the beautiful lakes alongside the Tibetan border and has attracted a lot of attention amongst the tourists because of its exotic location and pure natural beauty. It is situated around 940 kilometers far from Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. Kailash Manasarovar Trek is one of the most popular pilgrimage tours for Buddhists as well as Hindu followers. The location of the Lake might be a cause of hindrance for the adventure and nature lovers as there is no easy access to reach the revered Mansarovar Lake. However, it is a relatively easier trek and does not require much physical strength to accomplish the Kailash Mansarovar Trek. The months from June to September are the best ones for the trek to Mount Kailash.

Kailash Mansarovar Trek, a holy pilgrimage destination, is mesmerizing in its beauty mostly because of the beauty of the calm and bluish-looking lake. The location of the Mansarovar Lake, in between the mountains, and at a considerable height from the sea level is one of the major attractions of the trek. According to Hindu mythology, Kailash Mansarovar used to be the abode (place for staying) of Hindu Lord Shiva and his wife Parvati. The beauty of Mansarovar Lake is quite a mystique and unique, drawing hundreds and thousands of both domestic and international tourists to the vicinity of the lake.

Kailash Mansarovar is also effective from the spiritual point of view as well as the tourists and trekkers will have plenty of private time to ponder and think about themselves, and their life and draw pleasure from the calm nature and the surroundings of the lake. The lake stretches over the large massif of the Tibetan plateau and is located at an altitude of around 14950 feet above sea level.

On the 5th day of the tour, we will be moving from Nyalam to Dongha/ Paryang (4500m). In the early morning, we will head to Dongha / Paryang, after having breakfast as it takes about 8 hours. We will take some snaps while on the way to Dongha. Dongha is a beautiful place and we will be staying overnight at a guesthouse.

This is an important day of the tour that we have all been waiting for so eagerly. This will be the very first day that we will be spending our night on the banks of Mansarovar Lake. Overnight stay in a tented camp.

According to Hindu mythology, Mansarovar was the place where Hindu Lord Shiva lived along with his wife goddess Parvati. After reaching Mansarovar Lake, you can even take a holy dip at the lake and carry out religious Pooja on the banks of the holy lake. Mansarovar Lake is one of the most beautiful creations of nature with its bluish color and amazing landscape around it. On this day we can engage ourselves in spiritual activities or just simply enjoy the amazing beauty around us. From Mansarovar, we then walk to Darchen. Overnight stay at Darchen.

The weather is changeable in Doma-La Pass and at any time we might encounter a snowstorm. So, we have to try to begin our trip as fast as possible. For that, we have to pass from Diraphuk to Zhulthulphuk (4790m- 22kms). Overnight stay in a tented camp.
