Trip Overview of Manaslu circuit trek 12 days
Manaslu Circuit Trek 12 days is a newly introduced exclusive trekking package in order to facilitate our valuable trekker across the globe who likes to explore this unspoiled wilderness and rich culture province. This journey provides you the tremendous opportunity of exploring the Manaslu region which is jeweled by Mt Manaslu 8163m, a sacred monastery, a Beautiful village, lakes, a River, a waterfall, culture, customs, and tradition. Manaslu region lies inside the Manaslu conservation area which was established in 1998 in order to conserve and protect wildlife habitats and nature conservation. This isolated territory was opened to the outside world in 1991 Ad which was banned for foreigners before that. Analyzing the provision of limited holidays globally we have crafted this short and sweet journey for you.
The Manaslu circuit trek 12 days starts in Kathmandu where we take a bus to Sotikhola 730m where we spend overnight. Sotikhola is a small settlement situated on the bank of the river Budigandaki mostly inhabited by the Gurung tribe people who are one of the major tribes from the Manaslu region famous for their culture, custom, tradition, and way of living. The trail traverses mostly through the bank of river Budhigandaki which originates from Mt Manaslu 8163m. Along the trail, we pass through many villages inhabited by Gurung and Magar people whereas the upper province is inhabited by Bhotia people who are the descendants of Tibetan ancestor who speaks one of the Tibetan dialects. These people are the treasure of this journey while they are very rich in culture, customs, tradition, and way of living. Shamagaun 3500m and Shamdo 3800m are some of the highland settlements from this region which is absolutely worth exploring. The highest elevation of this journey is Larkya La 5200m pass which is the major attraction of this journey as well.
Manaslu Circuit trek 12 days is one of the best trekking journeys through unspoiled territory which is no doubt the best virgin trekking route. For this trekking, the trekking group should be 2 or more and this is a semi-restricted area so the permit should be organized in Kathmandu with a passport. You need to have a permit for the Manaslu conservation area, Semi restricted area permit, an Annapurna conservation area, and a Tims card (Trekker information management system). It is not possible to do this trek independently thus you should buy this trip from a government-registered agency. Itinerary
Day 01: Kathmandu drive Sotikhola 730m
9 hrs Launch/ Dinner Mountain lodge
In the early morning, we go to Machhapokhari to catch the bus to Sotikhola. The bus goes through hilly terrain which is a scenic drive and a wide chance to multi-culture people along the drive. The bus will stop several times along the journey. We stop halfway for launch at the place called Jimire.
Day 02: Trek Sotikhola to Machhakhola 869m

We commence the trekking journey at 8:00 am after having breakfast. The trail goes through the bank of river Budhigandaki having facets of a sheer cliff with lush green forest. We pass through several small villages where we are accompanied by beautiful smiling inhabitants. Mourning and sparkling river Budhigandaki energizes the entire day. We stop halfway for launch at Lapubesi 884m.
Day 03: Trek Machhakhola to Jagat 1340m

The journey starts after having an energetic breakfast. The trail goes through the bank of river Budhigandaki crossing through a suspension bridge. The trail thraverse through the bottom of a high cliff gorge. We pass through some small settlements inhabited by Gunung and Magar tribespeople. We stop for launch at Dovan which is next to the confluence of river Budhigandaki and Dobhan Khola. Jagat is the entry point of the Manaslu region and its quiet a big village. Here we can see Gurung tribe people rich in culture, custom, and tradition.
Day 04: Trek Jagat to Deng 1860m

We start after having breakfast in the morning. The trail goes through the Budhigandaki river gorge surrounded by lush green forest. Today we can see the snowcapped mountain Shringi Himal 7151m towering high above in the zenith. we stop for launch at the place called Pewa by the side of the river. After Pewa the gorge gets wider which enhances your mood.
Day 05: Trek from Deng to Namrung 2630m

We start after having breakfast. The walk to Namrung 2630 m is very scenic. We pass through some villages like Magar gaon, Bhi, Prok, and Kwap where we can see indigenous Bhotia people. The last part of the journey is through the lush green forest where big chance to witness musk deer and monkeys. Namrung is medium size village, the valley becomes wider, and becomes more scenic.
Day 06: Trek from Namrung to Lho 3180m

The journey starts after having breakfast. The trek is very scenic and surreal surrounded by towering snowcapped mountains. We can see local people working and running lively hood around the village. We stop for launch at Sho 2880m nearby monastery. The scenery is so beautiful so we can see Towering Mt Manaslu 8163m and some other mountains on the left-hand side. The trail gets more pleasant which traverses through the left-hand side of the valley.
Day 07: Trek from Lho to Samagaon 3520m
6 hrs Breakfast/Launch/Dinner Mountain lodge
We start after having breakfast. The trail is comparatively flat and we have an incredible view of Mt Manalsu along the way. We walk through the monastery where we spent some time visiting the premise. The trail goes through a lush green forest of alpine trees. We reach another village after a mild ascent Shyala 3500m where we spent some time taking launch. The trail gets flat and wide after Shyala. We walk around the village Samagaon 3520m village in the evening which is one of the biggest villages in this region where Tibetan descendent Bhotia people live.
Day 08 Rest day in Samagaon. Excursion to Manaslu base camp 4400m

We have a rest day here at Samagaon in order to get acclimatized but it's not a rest day literally. After breakfast, we go for an excursion to Manaslu base camp 4400m. During the hike, we can see an aerial view of Shamagaon village, Birendra lake, Shambo, and Tibetan territory. The close-up view of Mt Manaslu 8163m is very magnificent and breathtaking from the Manaslu base camp. We take a packed launch for this day.
Day 09: Trek from Samagaon to Dharmasala 4460m

We start early morning after having breakfast. The trail goes through a barren valley surrounded by snowcapped mountains. We cross the river through a wooden bridge. Halfway there is a village called Samdo 3875 where we stop for launch. we continue further crossing the steel bridge. During the trek, we can see the trail to Tibet which is widely used by locals. The trail goes slightly uphill passing Larkya Bazar all the way to Dharmasala 4460m.
Day 10: Trek from Dharmasala to Bhimtang 3590m via Larkya pass 5200m
8 hrs Breakast/Launch/Dinner Mountain lodge
We wake up early in the morning around 4:00 am. After having breakfast we commence our journey towards larky- La 5200m. The trail goes passing through the moraine route full of gravel and boulder. We pass through some small lake en route to Larkya la. We stop to celebrate at the top of Larkya La 5200m and continue downhill. The view from Larkya la towards the west is very amazing and breathtaking. We take a packed launch this day. The view of Phunkar lake seen from Larkya hill is amazing. We reach the beautiful village Bhimtang for an overnight stay.
Day 11: Trek from Bhimtang to Dharapani
7 hrs Breakfast/Launch/Dinner Mountain lodge
We start early in the morning after breakfast. The trail goes downhill mostly through lush green alpine forest. The scenery is surreal. We can see the southwestern face of Mt Manaslu during the hike. We pass through several villages where we can see local people busy with their household work. The journey is long but beautiful scenery consolidates all pain and strain. We reach Dharapani 1963 m for an overnight stay.
Day 12: Drive from Dharapani to Kathmandu
10 hour Breakfast/Launch Mountain lodge
We take a jeep early in the morning after breakfast in order to drive to Besisahar. The drive goes on a gravel road which takes nearly 4 hours. We take the launch at Besisahar and catch a bus to Kathmandu. The bus from Besisahar to Kathmandu takes 6 hours so the total vehicle journey takes 10 hours. After reaching Kathmandu you will attend a dinner meeting organized by Tourist link trek and expedition.
