Trip Overview of Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek
Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is one of the short and sweet trekking journeys which offers an unforgettable experience including a Panoramic Himalayan view, Multi tribe culture, Flora-fauna observation, etc. This short and sweet journey starts from Pokhara with a scenic drive that goes to Nayapul where the trekking is started. The main attraction of the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is the panoramic view of the Himalayas seen from Poohhill 3210m. Another highlight of this journey is Ghandruk 2012m village which is the ancestral land of the Gurung tribe. Exploring the culture, custom, tradition, architecture, and way of living of the tribe is definitely worthy.
The journey starts from Kathmandu with some tour and sightseeing and we drive to Pokhara where we spend one night. The next day drives to Nayapul was 45 kilometers which takes one and a half hour. We start trekking at Nayapul and follow the river Modi Khola all the way to Birethanti where we cross the river Modi Khola and follow Burundi khola through several beautiful villages where we can see terraces, rivers, waterfall, and lush green forests. The trek goes ascending all the way to Ghorepani 2870m which is famous for its rhododendron forest, Pun Magar people, and Panoramic Himalayan view. Early morning we visit Poonhill 3210m to see the sunrise and panoramic view of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Gurja peak rance. After the journey goes through the ridge to Ghandruk 2012m famous Gurung village.

Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1310m)
30 Min. BB Hotel
Once you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport of Kathmandu, you need to go through custom formalities. You will find our representative waiting for you with a placard displaying your name. You will be transferred to the three-star category hotel in a private vehicle for a comfortable stay.
Day 02: Full Day Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour
6 Hours Breakfast only Hotel in Kathmandu
You will be taken to our office on the next day for documentation work. You will be introduced to your guide and fellow trekking members. The guide will give you a briefing regarding the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek itinerary. Enjoy Full Day Guided Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour. The tour begins with a visit to Nepal’s holiest Hindu temple of Pashupatinath and continues with a visit to Nepal’s largest Buddhist Stupa at Bouddhanath. We will also stop by Nepal’s oldest Swayambhunath Stupa. Our day tour concludes with a visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (910m)
7 hrs Breakfast only Hotel in Pokhara
The distance from Kathmandu to Pokhara is 200 km. These two popular cities are linked together by Prithvi Highway. Early in the morning, we will reach Tourist Bus Station at Kantipath to catch a bus. We will follow the meandering path that offers exquisite views of green hills, the Trishuli River, and the forest. We will reach Pokhara in about 5 hours. You can go boating in Phewa Lake in the evening and row the boat by yourself to reach the Island Temple of Tal Barahi that exists in the middle of Phewa Lake. Stay overnight in the hotel.
Day 04: Drive to Nayapul (40min), Trek to Tikhedhunga (1577m)

Taking breakfast early in the morning, we will take an hour-long drive and pass through Lumle village with a scenic view of Annapurna as the backdrop to reach Nayapul. Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek begins from Nayapul. We will follow the Modi River and pass through the settlements of Ramgai and Sudame from where we will choose the escalating path uphill to Hile from where we will proceed to TikheDhunga. Stay overnight in TikheDhunga.
Day 05: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2855m)
5 hrs B/L/D Mountain Lodge
We will cross the Bhurungdi River and climb stone staircases to the Magar village of Ulleri. We will cross the rhododendron and oak forest and choose the ascending path to Nangethati. Climbing further through oak and spruce forest that is rich in wildlife and bird views, we will reach Ghorepani where we will stay overnight.
Day 06: Ghorepani to Poon Hill (3210m) (1 hr) to Tadapani (2700m)
4 hrs B/L/D Mountain Lodge
1 hour of the casual trek will take us to Poon Hill (3210m). We will enjoy the best sunrise view in Pokhara from Poon hill. We will also be rewarded with panoramic views of mountains including Dhaulagiri (8167m), Annapurna I (8091m), Nilgiri (7040m), Annapurna South (7219m), Annapurna II (7937m), Annapurna III (7555m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Hunchuli (6441m), Machhapuchhare (6998m), Tukuche peak (6920m), Dhampus Peak (6012m) and other surrounding peaks and mountains. We will return to Ghorepani and pass through pine and juniper forest to Deurali and then we will lower down to Banthati from where we will head towards Tadapani for an overnight stay.
Day 07: Tadapani to Ghandruk (1940m)
5 hrs B/L/D Mountain Lodge
Leaving Tadapani early in the morning, we will lower down through a forest area that offers exquisite views of mountains. We will follow the descending trail all the way to Ghandruk. Ghandruk is the largest Gurung village in the region. We will visit Ghandruk Museum and enjoy the cultural show in the evening. Homestay is available in Ghandruk.
Day 08: Trek to Nayapul 3 hrs, Drive to Pokhara (910m)
40 min B/L/D Hotel in Pokhara
Walking past the terraced fields of Ghandruk, we will lower down through Birethanti village to Nayapul. We will catch a vehicle and return back to Pokhara. You can explore the nearby marketplace to buy souvenir items. Stay overnight in a hotel in Pokhara.
Day 09: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu
7 hrs B/L/D Hotel in Kathmandu
We will return to Kathmandu on this day. Follow the meandering Prithvi Highway for 5 hours to arrive in Kathmandu. You will be transferred to the hotel for a luxurious stay.
Day 10: International Departure
30 min Breakfast only
As this is the end of Ghorepani Poon hill trekking, you will be transferred to the airport three hours before your scheduled flight. Safe journey.
