Travelers visiting Nepal are required to obtain a valid visa for entry. The simplest and most convenient method is to obtain a visa upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu. Alternatively, visas can be obtained from Nepalese embassies or consulates in your home country. For those entering Nepal through land border points with India and China, visas can be obtained from the immigration office at the border.

However, travelers from select countries, including Nigeria, Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, Ghana, Somalia, Swaziland, Iraq, Ethiopia, Liberia, Palestine, and others, are required to apply for a visa prior to their arrival in Nepal.

The visa application process is straightforward. You will need to complete an application form, available at the airport or land entry points, and submit it along with the required documents. You can select the type of visa you require and pay the corresponding fee in cash.

Visa Extension:

It is advisable to obtain a visa that covers the duration of your entire stay in Nepal. However, if you need to extend your stay, you can apply for a visa extension at the immigration office in Kathmandu. Additional charges apply based on the number of extra days required. It is important to apply for an extension at least one day before your current visa expires, as staying in Nepal with an expired visa is illegal.
