Trip Overview of Sunkoshi River Rafting
Sunkoshi River Rafting is translated as the River of Gold in English. Sunkoshi River has been enlisted among the Top10 Rivers for rafting in the world by National Geographic. It is popular among rafters for being the longest river trip in Nepal. Rapids at Sunkoshi River lie in Grade 3 to Grade 5 categories. The trip generally lasts for 8 to9 days. The beginning point for rafting will be at Dolalghat which is located 57km far from Kathmandu and it exists 3hours drive far from Kathmandu. The trip will end at Chatara. Sunkoshi Rafting covers a total length of 270km of a raging river. The river flows from the mountains towards the flat land of the Southern part of Nepal. Huge rapids, lukewarm water, views of fertile valleys, deep gorges, culturally rich villages, and vast camping areas add charm to Sunkoshi Rafting. Some of the major rapids that we will pass through while joining Sunkoshi River Rafting include Meat Grinder, High Anxiety, Punch, and so on which are placed under the Grade III to Grade VIII category. Once the rafting ends, we will take a 45minutes ride to Dharan from where we will either drive to Biratnagar or drive to Chitwan National Park or return back to Kathmandu.
